On the occasion of International Women’s Day, VDA Trailers launches “Built For More”, a new campaign that tells the story of the role of women within the ecosystem of the world’s toughest endurance race.

A narrative project that goes beyond simply celebrating female presence, highlighting instead the concrete and structural contribution women make in building one of the most extreme and iconic trail running events on the international stage.

The campaign starts from a historical reality that is often forgotten: until the late 1960s, women were officially banned from participating in long-distance running competitions and endurance events. Not because of any real lack of ability, but due to cultural prejudices that considered them unsuited to prolonged physical effort.

From this starting point comes the reversal at the heart of “Built For More.”

Today, within the context of TORX, women are not only protagonists on the course. They are an integral part of the entire system that makes the event possible. They are athletes who face altitude, distance, and the night. They are volunteers who ensure operations and hospitality along the route. They are supporters who accompany and wait. They are organizers, coordinators, and operational minds who contribute to building the race.

The message of the campaign is clear: women do not simply go through the journey of TORX —they help build it.

The title “Built For More” represents exactly this cultural evolution: not only endurance, but also the ability to generate value, vision, and community within an event that has always placed the journey, the mountains, and endurance as a complete life experience at its core.

The project is accompanied by a video that uses a powerful visual language consistent with the identity of TORX: essential imagery, an intense narrative rhythm, and a tone far from celebratory rhetoric. A choice that reflects the spirit of the race, where every participant — athlete, volunteer, or member of the organization — is part of a community that builds the experience together.

The closing message summarizes the meaning of the entire campaign:

“They said we weren’t built for this.

Maybe they’re right.

We build for more.”

With “Built For More”, VDA Trailers renews its commitment to promoting female participation that is not just presence, but an active and essential element in building the world’s toughestendurance race.
