Once again for the 2025 edition of TORX® with Kailas, VDA Trailers has reaffirmed its
commitment to supporting projects with strong social impact. As in 2024, the entire proceeds
from the sale of 20 charity bibs for the TOR330 – totaling €20,000 – were allocated to Disval to
help renovate the building, unused for years, into a fully accessible gym equipped with innovative facilities. Not only a space for people with motor disabilities, but an inclusive place designed to welcome everyone and truly promote integration.
During the visit, it was also possible to assess the progress of the renovation works, which
officially began in February. Among the works already completed: the construction of the floor
slab and the installation of the elevator shaft, key elements in making the building fully
functional.
“For us, this is a hugely important contribution – a real breath of fresh air. We need a lot of help and support, and knowing that VDA Trailers continues to believe in our project and support it in a concrete way is crucial for moving forward. Thanks to gestures like this, we are getting closer and closer to the completion of what we once called our ‘crazy dream’: the renovation of the Salle de Gymnastique. When the works are completed, it will feel like waking up from a dream that has finally come true," said Egidio Marchese, President of Disval and Paralympic athlete of the national Wheelchair Curling team.
“We have already made a significant investment of 270,000 euros, which allowed us to complete the excavation work and build the foundation slab," continued Marchese. "We are now starting the process of transforming our association: from ASD we will become an SSD, in order to access further funding. We are aware that we cannot do it alone. But we strongly believe that this facility, once completed, can become a self-sustaining project. It’s truly a significant initiative: we will not need additional funds in the future because it will be able to sustain itself. We already have another gym that works well and is a sustainable resource, also from an economic point of view. This will follow a similar model."
Alessandra Nicoletti and Paolo Griselli explained the reason behind VDA Trailers’
commitment: "We decided to stand by DISVAL because we deeply believe in the power of this
project, which will give the community back a symbolic and inclusive place. The contribution from TOR330 – Tor des Géants® athletes represents much more than a symbolic act: it’s a concrete step toward building a more open, fair, and accessible society. For us, taking part in our races also means this: going beyond the sporting competition and making a real impact on the territory and the people who live in it."
